Hi guys,

Had an issue with my pc since last week. couldnt turn it on suddenly. When i press the power button the LED lights up for <1sec and then turns off. is it a PSU problem? is there any shops at SLS who can test for me? i dont want to waste money buying a new psu if its not the issue.

Btw rig is pretty new,

psu is FSP aurum gold 80+ 600W
mobo+cpu asrock h81m-hds+i5 4460
kingston 8gb ram
2X1TB Hdd
sapphire r9 280 3gb ddr3

Is there any other possible issue?

1) Reseat all connections in the rig, reseat RAM, check under the mobo for any metallic stuff. There may be a short somewhere in the rig.

2) Check whether heatsink is mounted properly, an improperly mounted heatsink may also cause overheating, causing these shutdowns.

3) If you are unable to find out the cause of your problem, take your rig to PC Care & Solutions, #02-32, SLS, and ask Nigel to take a look at your rig.

i emailed them with regards to my psu too... they have something to test the psu and if fault shows up, straight change liao. since you can confirm that your psu got fault, should be fast fast one ba..

If i get Nigel to check how much will it cost?

Immediate testing. no queue there lol. just avoid their lunch hour which i think is 12.30-1.30. mine wasnt working so they changed it on the spot for me 1 to 1.
