Help recommend Chromebooks

Hey guys, looking for a Chromebook for use on an overseas trip. After some researching, arrived at ASUS Flip C100PA-DB02 (US$229+33 shipping) and Acer R11 (US$279+free shipping)

Anyone has experience using them? How do they compare? Also, anywhere in Singapore can get them, maybe for cheaper than Amazon? Or have any better recommendations at this price point (~S$400)

Just to ask, why specifically a Chromebook?

Why not just a normal Windows machine that's more flexible in usability?

I bought a Toshiba Chromebook in 2015 because of its 1080p screen and USD 279 back then

Currently the best one to go for is Acer 14, 32gb, 4gb and 1080p IPS screen. Last Fri was $240.

I don't recommend anything smaller than 12. You will regret and end up spending more

I already have a full fledged gaming PC at home, as well as an Aftershock laptop for mobile gaming. But that laptop is really bulky and heavy, so I am looking for a cheap replacement device for the overseas trip which will last a month or so. Basically something different from a traditional laptop, which I already have.

As such I am looking for more of the 2-in-1 convertibles with touchscreens which can 180-flip into a tablet mode or a tablet with a detachable keyboard like the Surface, just that the Surface is too damn expensive. Thus the above 2 selections. I am definitely open to a Windows machine which is convertible at this price point, but the Windows itself adds too much to the cost.

Definitely a r11 because of the playstore support. But pricing u can camp for below 230usd. Also get the 4gb version

bought asus flip because of the playstore support but free shipping from Amazon to SGD.

That time no import fee charges but i think it should be refundable.

Both the R11 and Flip have playstore support right? Or is the R11 is more compatible with android apps over the Flip?

Tried to test check out R11, seems like the USD:SGD just nice went over S$400, they start requesting for import fees deposit... SG customs will be so strict that S$400.01 they start charging GST liao?

yup. no idea if any significant difference running android apps.

i have asus flip. abit sluggish. therefore would recommend u spending abit more for r11. also because the buttons always get in the way when using it as a tablet.

i use it for youtubing and kodi. light browsing as well.

yes. 400 include shipping fee. exceed 1 cent = gst. amazon platform auto count for u when u check out.

but end of the day if it goes over 450 then i wont recommend u going chromebook. windows would be better.

Are there any good 2-in-1 convertibles at ~450 price point? Not counting Lenovo or iCube that sorta brands
