My NVIDIA graphics card is the GTX 650 Ti Boost, connected to my Philips monitor via a HDMI cable.

Just yesterday, my monitor kept showing the check cable connection screen, and I thought it was my HDMI cable that was dead cos it felt flimsy.

Bought a new cable today from UF technology in Sim Lim and plugged it in and still doesn't work.

Opened up my CPU case to check - the fans on the graphics card are still whirring away. When I checked device manager, it only shows 'Standard VGA Graphics Adapter', which is the one I'm using right now (my motherboard VGA graphics card).

I'm not very sure what I should do now:
- Worst case scenario is that my card died
- Can drivers cause such a problem? And if so, does anyone have this problem?
- I can't use VGA to connect my monitor and nvidia card cos the card doesn't have VGA outlet, only HDMI or DVI. (and my monitor only has vga and HDMI) Don't really want to buy converter for this...
- Is there any possibility of the slot on the motherboard dying out? Sounds really strange but I'm noob at this.

Quick replies will be appreciated!!
