[Help] Soundbar Set-up for Single Monitor + Multi-device usage.

Not sure if this is the right place.

Basically I want my soundbar to work for all my devices which are currently on the following setup.

Is there anyway i can make my soundbar work, or i die die have to change my monitor to a TV =.=


*** Existing Setup ***

A - Devices
1 - Laptop
2 - PS4
3 - Nintendo Switch

This monitor has inbuilt speakers, with the following slots:
2 HDMI
1 VGA
1 Headphone Jack
1 PC Audio In

The soundbar can only be connected via the following:
HDMI ARC
USB Type A
Optical-audio Input
BlueTooth

The Sony sound bar works with TV, HDMI ARC is only found on TV but not monitor.
Change to a TV, better quality and reliable switching than using HDMI switcher.
If budget doesn't allow than upgrade the soundbar to either Creative Katana or Logitech Z906.
But Switch wise you need the BT dongle to connect.
TV is still best upgrade option for you.

I suggest BT for Nintendo switch since it doesn't have any audio output like 3.5mm.
I will not recommend what you share as BT audio quality isn't that good as compared with cables.
For best sound quality, best not to route through monitor but unless TV than no issue. (Cable connection not BT)

Abit silly question, but aside from upgrading to TV and using the HDMI Arc, can i get a Monitor that support Optical Audio ?

Most importantly the this can work, cause TV are like 32 inch, abit too big

Most PC monitor only have 3.5mm output but no optical output.
There are smaller TV above 24" selling at NTUC, Giant and etc.
You can check them out as well as not to mention it is cheap.

This soundbar is designed for tv use. So no easy way to connect to monitor. For a tv soundbar it’s good , with hdmi arc and Low price for 2.1 Sony.

Also think about how far you are going to sit from the tv/monitor. Monitors are designed for near field viewing . tv abit further.
