Hi,

Need some comments and opinions please.

I am renovating my place(3 floors), and asking for Cat6 and Cat6a to be put in.

Cat6 for 4x camera system
Cat6a for all data points. (7x)
Total = 11 points.

M1 10gbps
Router Asus BT10 - reuse instead of purchase
Switch - Omada SG3428XPP-M2 * 24-port 2.5G with PoE++
Controller - Omada OC220 or OC300
AP - 3x Omada EAP787 ceiling mount ( 1 per floor )

What I am unsure - what is the appropriate wall termination near the db-box? Electrician said would be the regular wall socket.

At the end, i would like to have a server rack like this.

1. How are the cables normally terminated at db-box? just wall socket? any suggestions? He will put 1 box (6x port) for cat6. and 3 wall plates for 7x ports.

2. I am trying to achieve good wifi7 coverage, any other suggested setup? thanks.

IMHO.
If you know an area that you potentially have issues with coverage, install another data point for an additional AP - it will be much neater. You can look those AP that mounts to the power socket.

I recently renovated and created a new so-call DB box in the living room that looks like a cabinet. I have 4 power sockets ( should have made more ) and a wood panel that I can "wall mount" my devices like ONT and switches. I also made provision to have ventilation vanes but I have yet to install the fans.

The plan now is to run a MESH with wired backhaul
I realized that it is not very likely possible to run a truely wireless mesh for the main network - still need to be tested though, which was why I bought the BE65 Pro - 3 nodes.
I do have a 2-nodes MESH connect to 5G mobile network supporting the IoT - of course general Wifi is supported.

P.S. I really don't like to use wireless, so I need to make sure the AP/nodes would be further away or can be switched off. :ROFLMAO:
