Help: Xbox one controller issue

I have an Xbox One and just bought the latest controller. Synced the controller with no issues. I power down the unit and turn of the mains power as a habit once I’m done. But when I power it up again, the controller does not sync to the Xbox until I press and hold the controller connect button to sync it again. Dam frustrating.

I’m facing the same issue.

Bought the console set recently and the controller worked out of box during the setup. However, whenever I power on the console now, the controller is not synced and I have re-connect it.
