budget shld be less than 2000 dollar
- preferably has long battery life and
- the fan is not loud
-dont need to game

i assume u will be compiling the code alongside actually coding, in which case u should go for a laptop with more cpu power (simply coding/scripting wont require much cpu horsepower). generally the more cores the better, but this also leads to higher power consumption and in turn louder fans and reduced battery life. amd is more power efficient for a similar level of performance to intel, though well priced laptops may be hard to come by. since u mentioned no need game, u dont need a discrete gpu.

If you have to type numbers, get a laptop with numpad.

For coding, you'll get more productivity with more squarish display aspect ratio so go with 3:2 (best) or 16:10 (good) and not 16:9 (avoid).

Windows laptops unfortunately usually do not have good battery life. If you can find one that can do 6 hours at minimum, it's pretty good already. 8 hours is consider really good.

If you don't get, no point getting discrete GPU.

If you have to bring the laptop around often, get lighter ones which are of course more expensive.

$2000 is a pretty good budget.

Just compare prices online since there are so many sellers.
