Hi just a query.

I have done 7 HK, but only two LK. So im just short of one LK.

I was called up for another HK next year.

So is it a mistake on their part? Or can i ask for defer until next LK?

I doubt it is a mistake on their part. Basically the MR criteria is 10 ICTs training and AT LEAST 7 HK during that 10 year cycle.

Which means that technically you can have full 10 HK ICTs for your 10 year ICTs.

It is a mistake on your part.

The minimum requirement for completion of NS Training Cycle is 7 HK and 10 ORNS years (8 HK and 13 ORNS years for Key Appointment Holders).

There never was a requirement of 3 LK.

They can't possibly making it zhun zhun 7 HK. There will often be 1 or 2 more HK so as to cater for those who had deferred, or took MC during one of their HK and OC decided to change their HK to LK due to less days.

If u really want, can ask your superiors how many MCs can take during the HK for it to become LK without voiding the whole ICT. But I suggest dun ask lah. One more HK only.

There is 2 ways to look at this. Forget about advices telling u to geng. That's gonna go nowhere.

If you confirm that you have completed 7HK WITH 1 more ORNS to go, u can discuss with unit to either:

1. Apply for deferment with reason that you need only 1LK to complete NS Cycle. This reason can be accepted, but not guaranteed. Disadvantage is if you unit next 5 years all HK, den you LLST.

2. Go for the HK but instead of full 2 weeks, you can help out for force prep 1 week and clock as LK and out pro end of 1st week.

Both situation, call your unit/CSM/OC/CO to discuss and they can work out something for you.
