Hi I am a fresh graduate from University of Newcastle (Singapore Campus) at psb. I studied Beng (ME) (Honours) and i am currently looking for mechanical engineering related jobs. I have several questions to ask as I need consultations.

May I know what kind of mechanical engineering jobs is highest paid and future proof?

Is the field service engineer for ACMV/HVAC industry good starting choice for fresh grad?

I know aerospace industry is getting hit hard. However, will there be a chance for me if i want to work there as an technician? as I am quite interested to be a licensed aircraft maintainence engineer.

Please help me clarify my doubts with your opinions/suggestions as it will help me and mean alot for someone like me.

Actually if you ask me...any market that you can excel in your strength & willing to work hard is good.. you might think is bull **** but there is no best choice now...

ME is a very wide scope that can support numerous industries from Infrastructure / Semicon / aviation / Ship-building & repair etc etc...

If you land yourself in a job that you dun like / does not suit you.. .even if the trade is great prospect you will be excel in it..

Go for something that you have interested.. which you will like to know more & is good at...... when you are good at something, you will gain the respect & money will follow thru...

I'm not sure if the major MRO companies in sg accept private uni grads as LAE.

But this period of time aviation industry is hard hit. Even contract LAEs are being let go. There r estimates that the industry will take at least 2 full yrs before recovering to pre-covid levels.

How old r u this year? Do you know that there is an 8 years bond for LAE?

4years of training + 4 years as a full fledged LAE.

Think the training allowance is $2.5k, after the period ends salary will rise to low $3k.

Personally I feel engineering roles in sg are not very well paid and recognized as compared to other countries...

Do u have any internship or past engineering working exp??

As a mech engineering grad, u have more job opportunities in other industries besides aviation :)

Hmm I'm not very well versed in other engineering industries....

But of cus nowadays 1 of the hottest industries is IT... u can consider switching into it... I've known of a few friends who switched from engineering to IT...

If not can join civil service too :)
