Noob bird here, just wondering if the liaojiaos can help this poor noob out..

As mentioned above, are there any hits to when a mob manning might happen?

What does alert amber mean? Does it mean ops manning where We may need to go outfield or like a sign do some activity and go? What would be the procedure be like for this? Any help is appreciated.

If you are 3SG(NS) and above, you should know such information esp on the Alert status. Otherwise, perhaps you are not required to know.

Similar to if you are CFC(NS) and below and have such a question means you are not required to know.

Just respond to activation during your manning period if there is.

Whether will there be outfield or not, that depends on Mindef who decides on such activation.

It actually from your Unit. But it can be 'suggested' by your Facilitator like higher HQ Unit but end day it is your CO who call the shot!

If your civilian job is critical (lifesaving), you can go and ask the Ops Warrant... he will give you hints on when you should make arrangements for someone to cover your work in the event you are activated...

Haha, in short I have give him a direction who to ask to get a correct answer for his question.

If he ask small fry like SC, PS, PC or maybe CSM, Coy 2IC, OC & etc, they cannot give him a confirm answer cause they do not know themselves.

From personal experience nowadays very hard to tell, they are quite strict
Even perm staff dunno
You can try to guess based on the frequency and whether previous mob requires outfield etc
But standby to be called just in case lor
Usually weekend
They will inform you the manning period at least a few months in advance

alert amber just means you are not allowed to travel overseas and to be in constant contact, usually through your area IC.

it has no bearing on whether you will actually be activated or what will happen when you do.

to you, its just another mob. don't need to find out so much la. activated just go and everything will be told to you. no activated then life as normal.

alert amber means you cannot leave the country (not even to go to jb for a few hours). Usually if will mob (either silent or open, your encik or CO will tell you all and news will travel down one). If you never hear anything, either cause no mob or you not friendly enough with the laojiaos...haha
