Hi I'm planning to buy a 50" TV for my bedroom. Which would be a better pick? Why?
I've heard TCL interface used to be laggy. Is it still the same for the newer models now?
Appreciate if you guys can give me any inputs!

From the specs, I think the U6K seems a bit better with ULED (Hisense's own version of miniLED, I believe), Filmmaker mode, higher brightness and FALD (if you believe the specs on their webpage ... coz the same variant, the U68K in sold Canada does not have FALD). Being priced higher than the C645, we'd expect the U6K to be superior. The U6K has shortcomings though. Read the review: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/hisense/u6-u6k

While I'm not sure about the 'laggy' TCL issue, I believe the C635 and C645, and even the U6K have processors of about the same performance; so the same pros & cons should apply to all three TVs. All use the slower A55 & A53 CPUs, so won't be fast i.e. feels laggy. The A73 CPU in the Sony X80L will surely feel faster than these. My low-end Philips TV and Android TV Box also use A55 and A53 SoCs, and they do feel laggy, but they get the job done with some patience.

If I were you, I would choose TCL rather than Hisense, TCL has many factories across the world. Not many brands nowadays can make a TV physically with all parts including the CPU. Most of the brands just find a factory to OEM their products. except Samsung or LG they are still investing a lot of money in display panels.

If you are scared of lag, can try the TCL mid-range level TV C7 or C8, They use a better CPU.

If you want to get the best value product, then TCL would be a good choice,

if you don't see the pricing stick to traditional brands Samsung or LG. Usually wont have this lagging problem.

But again same, don't choose entry-level TVs. 一分钱一分货

I won't recommend TCL, their service sucks.

They will tell you that they are out of stock, cancel your order, and then they will list the item with a higher price on their Shopee page. With stock on hand!

Bunch of monkeys in the company. Dishonest people.

I will stay away from TCL if I were you.
Stay far far away from TCL if you can.

Here to warn everyone about their dishonest service.

very unfair comments.
as an existing Hisense tv owner, their service is ok so far. dun see other owners complain on their service too
TCL - poor after-sales service
Hisense - sketchy sales tactics e.g. selling U8H under the exact same name as the US variant but with significantly downgraded spec, while the downgraded version is rightly sold as the U8HQ in the EU

hmm supposing one is in the market for a budget 40-43" tv would u reco Hisense or TCL? if expect the TV to go issue free for min 3 years? our sharp tv just gave up (mobo/power issues) after exactly 6 years wif ultra heavy use (16-20 hrs a day for its lifetime!) and i thought that was really good for "modern electronics"

lastly are Philips TVs thrash cos on one ever mentions them lol

Go for this Xiaomi. Decent visuals for the lowest price. Xiaomi SG warranty support seems fine.
Xiaomi P1

My favorite is this TCL TV though, coz I think best visual for a low price. Sure, horrid warranty support stories aplenty, but I'm inclined to think it was due to Alphvision P.L. in the past, but now TCL SG has taken over the role, well ... I hope it'll be better.
TCL P735

Hisense seems to have decent post-sales support, but its pricey and doesn't have the best visuals.
Hisense E7H

I believe Philips support should be the best amongst these 4 brands. Me and my mom's Philips TVs have no issue for more than 4 - 8 years. My brother-in-law's spoilt FHD Philips TV was replaced with a 4K model within warranty period. Visuals are OK, but I think TCL & Hisense are better.

Yup. TCL SG took over from Alphavision for only around a year, so can't guage properly. Its anybody's guess. From replies shown, seems Alphavision only offered 1-year warranty, and TCL SG will not help cover such buyers for 3 years. Well, at least currently sold TCL TVs are covered for 3 years warranty. Whether TCL SG will provide sold warranty services like Philips or continue to suck as bad as their previous warranty provider ... nobody knows. Other than some complains of poor current sales tactics, I've not heard anything about bad current warranty service. Anyway, for me, these are cheap TVs, so if spoilt, hope warranty works; else just buy new one (after lodging a report with CASE), coz so cheap! LOL

Do note that 43" and 50" tv does not come with the 120hz dlg. only 55" and and above have this function. But 120hz dlg is just acceleration not true 120hz as it has a native 60hz panel after all.
