Hello guys,
im visiting taipei on 31st may to 6 june

and i have check on the net that the weather during this period in taipei is quite hot.

So is it still worth it to give a shot to go to the hot spring?
or is there any cold spring recommended at taipei??

Thanks!

within beitou there are loads for you to pick from, ranging from most ex (kagawa) to free public hot springs... i went in april, some details here

i think hot spring is fine whether the weather is hot or not, just that if the weather outside is cool and you're soaking in the hot spring, there feeling is pretty awesome...
there are some with cold springs but i don't really fancy them.

the idea of visiting taiwan and trying this sounds interesting, but the cold spring sounds like torture! does it have medical benefits?

Cold Spring in Su Ao

There is no good cold spring in Taipei, I recommend Su Ao cold spring, where is in Yilan.

It takes about 1.5 hr by train from Taipei to Su Ao, and it only take a few minutes walk to the cold spring.

Here is the introduction in traditional Chinese: goo.gl/y2gk9

well if you want to look at it that way, in Finland and lots of nordic countries, they have the practice of sitting in the hot steam room (sauna) for a while, then running out in the cold to jump into a freezing-cold pool of water, swim around for a bit then back to the sauna, repeat x 10.

My friend said the locals seem to think it has health benefits e.g. improve blood circulation, keep you young and healthy etc.....
