Example like below should book one day less or book one day more for the hotel stay.

Travel date 4th Nov to 9th Nov 2019.

Usually will book hotel date start from 4th check-in and 9th check-out. Total of 5 nights.

If you fly in late night (still 4th Nov 2019) but reach hotel after 12am which is 5th Nov 2019. As such the check in date will becomes 5th Nov 2019 instead of 4th Nov 2019. So should you book the hotel from 5th to 9th (4 nights) or still remain the booking from 4th to 9th Nov 2019 (5 nights)?

Simplify for u

U arrive 5 Nov midnight which is just after 4 Nov so u need a place to sleep. Then u book hotel stay from 4 Nov.

If u no need to sleep or have some place or things to do, then u can leave ur luggage with the hotel and come back later during check in hours to check in.

Some hotels allow early check in but in ur case very difficult.

Check in time 2-3pm for that day. So if you didn't book for 4th nov, you can't check in. Some hotel may allow early check in, that is at least after 12pm. You will be dead tired lol.
Another thing is, if you book 4th Nov, you need to inform hotel that you will arrive late so will do late check in. If not, hotel can counted as no show.

If you are the person that can sleep in flight, then I think it's ok to save 1 night hotel fee.
But not for me, go holiday must enjoy mah

If you book hotel from 5th Nov but reach hotel after 12am 5th Nov,the hotel won't let you check in. They will only allow you to check in earliest maybe 5th Nov 12pm or later provided your room is ready.

Didn't you already answer your own question? If your booking from 5th to 9th means you can only check in at 2pm or 3pm lo

Have seen some hotels offering extra early check in like 6AM if u have some status with them. If no status then u see luck lo.

5th 12am, you need book the rate from 4th 2pm onwards rate. If you book 5th starts, you will only be able check in 2pm or at times earlier 12noon. So if you reach say hotel 5th 1am, you have to stay lobby throughout? Is it worth spending money?

I ever accepted a 50% discount off the rack rate to check-in at midnight. It was cheaper than the hourly rate offered. This was in Thailand.

Check in time is 2pm on the day u arrive aka 4th nov, some hotels do not have 24hrs frontdesk so if u arrive after 12am aka on (5th Nov) u may have to inform the hotel beforehand. Some hotels may regard u as no-show if u dont arrive by 12am and don't inform them - they will cancel the booking.

Is this your first time booking a hotel? Check-out times can range anything from 9am to 12pm. Unless you’re a member of the hotel group, they don’t allow such late check-outs. Or if you’ve booked a late check-out offer.
