How do u all save money?

For the bursary do they count monthly income or annual income/12?

Say my friend, his mum just retired, his dad earns around 160k per annum, which is around 13-14k a month inclusive of bonuses etc, but if count gross monthly, it's 10k a month.

4 people in his household. Can qualify?

So you managed to clear off all your loans upon graduation? That itself is an impressive feat already. I have a friend who is saving up a lot to whack all into the loan repayment when graduating too. I can't do that cause not enough

No. I cleared the 24k 2 years after graduation... that was when I was 27.. I am turning 29 this year.

If you include the bonus, won't the 'gross' be even higher?

they only ask for last month's payslip which you applied instead of the full year. so yep think bonus not counted. that was during my time, now not sure.

but no one knows how they really count actually. that time my father clocked OT close to $1k then they counted it as normal pay... only got the MOE bursary instead of CDC one because of this which was like $700 lesser

depends on what scholarship is it? Mine gave 12k in all. considering the tuition fee for uni, I was still about 12k in debt. How about my living expenses/transport/hp bills of about $300/month? I tried to be as frugal as I can, but it was still damn tough to hit $10k savings with $0 coming from parents since uni

4 years of uni = 48 months * $300 = -$14,400 (Assuming NO FUN MONEY at all as a very conservative estimate)
4 years uni tuition fee = -$24k
Scholarship allowance = +$12k

I was still at about -$26.4k? Naturally the savings since 1 year old and of course from 2 years of salary after graduation...

P.S: But i must add that I was really really very lucky to get that god-sent $12k compared to others....

remind of my schooling days back then.. just that i do not have scholarship.
not forgetting paying for all the printing of lectures notes and buying of textbooks... and also investing in a printer.. spoil already buy new one. All out of own pocket.

i also have to skip Overseas attachment/ or 6 months studying overseas becos i wont have income from tuition and have to spend and incur more debt. Actually, these overseas experience are actually good to put in resume, but unfortunately i have to give it a miss

but still manage to join a 2 week overseas study trip in beijing worth about 1.5k .. which i pay using my own cheque with my own name to the student office.... the officer look at me with nod of approval...

i also dont believe one can have 200k upon graduation..most likely is golden spoon

e maths just dont add up.. i made $10k from maplestory mesos..saved $20k allowance from 2.5y of army, did part time in uni and saved pocket money..in e end cant even hit 100k upon graduation

unless u r a blogshop model or social media "influencer"..then maybe 200k possible

bots aside. so many variations of vac last time, dupe, wall vacs and other underground hacks. every update find pointer offsets and self compile.

maple and diablo 2 and 3(bots were also compiled from vb) were quite lucrative last time

Setting aside your savings in a separate bank account is one of the most effective ways

As i am not exactly investment savvy and am quite lazy, i will also lock my extra funds up in a fixed deposit that has decent rates

I know its not the best ROI but better than letting it rot in a normal bank account.. I use ocbc 360 as well.
