I thought of utilizing my 1 of 2 accidental coverage to get then send me a replacement phone. From what I understand I will just need to return this damaged phone to them and thats it.

But just spoke to the CSO and he said that phone they send will just be a loan phone. Once my phone is repaired I got to send it back again. So troublesome? I thought i can just get a refurbished set fast

From what I understand, ERS is about sending you a replacement unit while charging full cost on your account first, until the spoilt unit is received by Apple then they will refund you the balance?

Yup that’s correct.

My 6+ died during the iOS 10.2 update process. I had AppleCare+ so I called up Apple Support hotline. After trying DFU mode etc my 6+ still wasn’t responding & iTunes couldn’t detect my 6+, I told them I wanted ERS.

2 days later my refurbished 6+ came & I returned the spoiled 6+ using the given DHL padded envelope. 1 week later I got an email from Apple confirming they received my spoiled phone & the full cost of the phone was refunded to me minus admin charges.

Suggest you call Apple Support in the morning when most of the time the CSOs answering are Aussies.

No discrimination intended but going by my personal experience it’s that the CSOs from India & Philippines who aren’t sure of the advice they give.

I agree. Nothing about discrimination... but if you kena the aussies or americans the process quite smooth.
