Hello. 1st post. Cravings for desserts. Saw that Messina just opened. Abit gian. but dunno if its worth the hype and 7.50 for 1 scoop is crazy ah. Can buy chicken rice add egg and meat.

Any other recommedations other than supermarket brands?

It's $10 for 2 scoops and $12 for 3 which is very reasonable.

However, I was never a fan of Messina even in Australia, found their stuff too sweet. Much prefer local establishments like Holy Cow Creamery, Tom's Palette, Lickers or Hundred Acre.

Taken at 3:30pm last Wednesday

Fewer queue probably due to timing

But the weather was super hot that day

Hey! I’ve queued at Messina a couple of times, honestly, it can get pretty long, especially on weekends. The ice cream is really good, but $7.50 a scoop feels a bit steep for me, so I usually only go when I’m really craving something special. If you don’t want to wait, there are some solid alternatives around, smaller gelato spots like Lickers or Gelatissimo, or even dessert cafes doing souffle pancakes and soft serve, which are tasty and usually way less crowded. Personally, I’d only queue at Messina if I’m in the mood for that hype experience, otherwise I’d just hit one of the smaller spots and still get something really good.
