According to the External*Media*Cards*-*Windows*Vista guide:

The ExpressCard slot may contain a protective insert. To remove the insert:
1. Press in on the insert (1) to unlock it.
2. Pull the insert out of the slot (2).
To insert an ExpressCard:
1. Hold the card label-side up, with the connectors facing the computer.
2. Insert the card into the ExpressCard slot, and then push in on the card until it is firmly seated.

Is the protective insert a flat rectangular metal protective piece that is to be discarded once it is broken or is it a support holder that must be re-inserted after an ExpressCard is taken out from the notebook?

The dv4-1301TX does not come with modem built-in. Are there ExpressCard modem or USB modem available in the market? Which option is better in terms of cost and reliability?

Does the dv4-1301TX works well with Win 7 x64? Does F.31 BIOS version support this OS?

Anyone upgraded to the F.55*A BIOS?

Any difference between F.55*A and F.31 in the CMOS set-up?

Is it normal for the dv4-1301tx HD light keeps flickering all the time even though there is no read/write activity when you are not using any program?

Don worry, warranty cover that. Actually warranty can cover more than what the paper stated... as long as you know how to implemented or make big hoha to the service centre.

The sound should not be because of the SP2 i have SP2 but there is still sound.
I would recommend you to uninstall and download the IDT audio and the HP quick launch button.
Hope it solve the problem.

The battery and power adaptor warranty is only for 1 year. other parts are for 3 years.

My laptop battery died right after the 1 year warranty & the power adaptor died after 1yr 2 months. nice timing...

not going to buy HP product again..
