Pricing for both?
I m thinking that the Probook is to be at least a couple of hundred more.

Gpu’s slightly dated for both though both won’t affect general CAD usage - unless your CAD file is huge with alot of elements in it - i.e. you work for Construction/ Consultancy.

Between both, the Probook as it is under the Business/Enterprise line up of laptops - which are generally more reliable.

ProBook - $1659

Pavilion - $1599

Just curious where you get the prices from? Look pretty decent for the specs

Must CAD be run on the notebook?

I would favour a third option of investing that $1.6k on a desktop with a good processor and graphics card, and then using a budget notebook as a thin client to RDP back to the desktop for CAD work.
