playing ue5 games just fine with ecores enabled :) which games are they playing?
FYI, E-cores pwned a lot of people due to UE 5 since it's DX12 only. Crash galore.

With solution being downing the CPU multiplier and/or disabling or de-prioritizing the e-cores via utilities like Process Lasso. lol.

You can simply search about it, not many ue 5 games so the results are glaring =). The recent one is remnant II. Upcoming Lords of the fallen should be interesting too. https://steamcommunity.com/app/1282100/discussions/0/5276582532032630913/ , a developer gave one of the solution. But... there's even one person who had to downclock all the way to x51 for game to work.

Fortnite, people resort to force using DX11 or simply using windows 8 compatibility. lol.

There was a recent open crossplay beta for a F2P game called the first descendant(UE 5.2, only DX12), same crap for intel cpus. FYI, I have no problems whatsoever, non intel with win 11 pro. :) .

Oh obviously not all intel chip is bad but some are bad enough(Surprisingly , they are the top end ones) that they run synthetic benchmarks fine but crashes with games. Few RMA their cpu, and managed to get games to run for a while... and problems returned later.

On intel, HT off has almost always been the way to set up your cpu for gaming.
Not just gaming. It really depends on application.

I basically also disabled HT on my workstation running CAD, which is heavily single threaded.

HT only useful when running simulations.

Maybe i got lucky then...i've finished remnant ii without much fuss. 60x pcore, 46x ecore, 51x ring, 8000c34.

Today i just updated my driver to 537.42 and notice it drop 10 FPS for my min FPS when SMT off, but when SMT on it does not have any impact on 5800x3D, my quick summary was in using 537_42 is preferable with SMT on for 5800x3D.

SMT off with 537_34 (OLD)

SMT off with 537_42 (New)

E-cores have problems with gaming. It may not crash, but your gaming performance will be seriously impacted and you might not even be aware... I wondered why there's a huge uptick of people whining about stuttering.

Updates: Well, Lords of the fallen bring pain and suffering to e-cores PC, based on the wave of complain threads and negative reviews.
