iBasso DX50 music player

i guess it's time to start a thread on this.

What with the detailed information/announcement from iBasso happening sometime in "Mid May".

What we do know at the moment:
01. it's about the size of an ipod (a bit thicker)
02. it's operating system is something else instead of Android.
03. It supports 24/192
04. Line out and a direct coax out
05. SDXC and SDHC Micro SD cards up to 2TB
06. Less than .5 ohms output impedance
07. 8gb internal flash memory
08. User exchangeable battery - Samsung
09. 64mm wide, 16.9mm high and 100mm long.
10. Wolfson 8740 dac
11. 10 plus hours run time
12. 5.2 onces 150 grams
13. Audio Formats Supported: APE, FLAC, WAV, WMA, AAC, ALAC, OGG, MP3
14. Gapless
15. Lock function for keys
16. USB charging


Those with DX100, would the DX50 interest you?
And those with AK100, would you switch to the DX50?
How does the DX50 stack up to other players recently announced (ie. Fiio X3, Hifiman HM-901 and AK120)?
Which would you choose (if you can only get one player)?


These are some pretty exciting times for those of us looking for a new music player.
Never has the music player scene been this exciting in recent times.

Am for one, very keen to see where we all will be and what players we'll be carrying in the months to come.

Steps to recovery and reset courtesy of doki81 (thanks)
Comes in very handy in tight spots.

1, press and hold both of the power button and the Vol + button for 5 seconds, then release it.
2, you will entry the blue recovery mode.
3, you can use your 3.5mm headphone jack to touch the coaxial jack and flick the hold switch to operate on this recovery mode.
4, select the wipe date/factory reset (click the power button to select)

Even though I have the DX100 the DX50 still make me look forward to it... non android based sounds good.

If really have to choose one, maybe go for AK120 so won't have 2 same brands!

hope for at least 20hr playtime. Clip 12hrs not good enough. The physical buttons are what ibasso got it right compared to fiio x3.
