ICE contact for emergency

I just realised XiaoMi phone can't add emergency contact person number. Whereas Sony, Samsung phone allows and allow to dial to the number without unlocking.

Any updates on this?

this isn't exactly the feature you want, but you can try setting a lock screen message. it's limited to 20 characters though.

for miui 8:
settings > lock screen and password > advanced settings >lock screen owner info > show owner info on lock screen

the emergency function is rather redundant. best is the mentioned method.
