Looking for ideas on places to go for a 1-2 weeks solo getaway, anyone here has any advice? My budget is up to 2K SGD, for traveling I enjoy sightseeing beautiful scenery. Preferably somewhere out of SEA. Thanks!

Try Taiwan, Hualien, Cingjing (breath-taking), and Taitung (lost of coastal scenery), lots of scenery.

Air Tickets (Budget): $250-$450 depending on season and promo ($300 spent)

Accommodation: $30-$80 a night depending on where you are staying (dormitory or hotel) ($50x10days=$500 spent)

Transport: Typically you will spend at most $10 a day in big city, $20-$30 a day in more rural areas. Scooter rental is about $15-$25 a day. ($15x10=$150 spent)

Food: $15-$20 a day at food stall ($20x10=$200 spent)

Factor in occasional taxi ($100), train and high speed rail ($100) plus shopping ($200), you are expecting to spent about $1550? Well, just some guideline.

Jeju has really good scenery. But 2 weeks there is a killer.

Dali, Lijiang have really nice scenery as well.

Taroko Gorge, Shi Ti Ping has really awesome scenery too.

And a lot of places in China have really awesome scenery too.

Thanks for all the ideas!

Australia
Melbourne?

Been to Australia before when I was young. I'll probably go again but only as a stopover to New Zealand. I am interested in Darwin though.

Thanks a lot for this tip! My parents are going Taiwan for 6 days in Sept, maybe I try to plan the timing with them so can go some of these places together.

Yeah I was researching on places to go in China yesterday. I am most interested in visiting Zhangjiajie, but the tour packages I find only cover 8D in Hunan and never go other places of interest.... feels like a waste to travel there 1 wk for 1 attraction.

U can consider Sichuan province with Chengdu as base..
I station myself at a hostel, sign up de local tours and self go, there are a lot of places u can cover in 2 weeks, given that china visa is valid for 15 days..
Places around include qingcheng mountain, dujiangyan, leshan, emei, siguniang, jiuzhaigou, hailougou, pandas and Tibet..
I went to at least 7 places listed above, in total Accomodation n flights, tours, train tickets all addsmupmto 1.6k for 2 weeks.
