The pragmatism of miw is almost certainly going to be the main force but will there be more space for an ideology? Or less?

We'll get the government we deserve regardless.

The ideology of a more just, democratic society regardless of race, language and religion so as to achieve HAPPINESS, prosperity and PROGRESS for our nation.

Someone asked what's the point of gaining riches of the world when you have lost your soul. Holds true to individuals as well as the whole nation.

I have always believe that being pragmatic is more important than being idealistic.

I am not sure how TS views the present situation but do you think the present pragmatism is working? I for one think that society is fracturing. And to be fair, I held this belief even before listening to all the rally speeches.

After thinking for some time, I recall the issue about the Singapore Pledge being raised by an NMP back in 2009, something to do with the issue of policies to be founded on the principles of the National Pledge.

Everything good (or bad) starts from an idea. It is hence my belief that ideas and aspirations are what drives man and society forward.

We must be guided accordingly so that our souls will not be lost and gain riches in the world.

It is a wrong assumption that PAP = pragmatism.

PAP's immigration policy is a threat to the jobs and wages of true blue singaporeans. So voting PAP out is a pragmatic choice.

Ideology guides you while pragmatism tapers you.

They need not be in opposite directions

Aspiration is only meaningful if one put in effort to make it a reality. If not it's just lip service.

I'm pragmatic enough to know most politicians are essentially salesmen selling you an idea to buy into. They are not meant to be completely honest. I like the idea of having different teams of liars calling out each other so we can find the truth between them. And then it's up to us as decendants of the founding fathers to follow our aspirations as an united people.
