propose for all hawkers to leegister gst
then can claim back gst and have pre-post gst increase in prices legit
helps to strengthen unesco hawker culture

Service charge is ridiculous here. Just for F&b to earn extra disguised as additional cost.

heng i only eat $2.50 cai png.

2.50/1.07 * 1.09 = 2.55

at most become $2.60 nia

it is a 2% increase only after all. from 7% to 9%

anything higher is really just profiteering from businesses

GST 9% means you are paying $19.90 more on every $100 you spend eating at FnBs with service charge.

Is this acceptable to edmw?
presently 7% gst = $100 x 1.1 x 1.07 = $117.70
at 9% gst = $100 x 1.1 x 1.09 = $119.90
increase = $2.20
ts calculation fail…

It just means SG has been cheap for too long. It's time to live like other countries liao. Learn to eat out less, and cook at home more. That's what ang mohs do all the time. In the first place, eating F&B every week is a luxury.
