Hello,

My iMac (3years and out of warranty) just died and I cannot even power up. No sound of fans, no light, no blink. Just dead, tried with unplug and plug into a different wall socket also cannot power up.

I do not have a spare adapter to check if its something wrong with my power adapter thou.

If I want to get a spare adapter to test, where should I get it? or Should I directly drop it in to repair? which repair shop is recommended?

Thanks!!

If your warrenty is over, I will recommend you bring it down to Sim Lim Square for repair. 3 Years back, my iMAC chipset fail and authorized Apple Service Centre quoted me $1.2k to replace it. Luckily I brought it down to Sim Lim to get it repaired and cost me $280. I'm sure the part from Sim Lim is 2nd sourced but it last me 2 years till it broke down again. FYI.

Hi,

Thanks! Guess sending the iMac to the authorised apple service center is a bad idea then.

Any idea which shop in SLS is reliable in repairing iMac? Pcpro?
