Dear Guys,

I need advice, I have a iMac 21.5-inch bought on year 2013 and hardly use.

I notice last week that i couldn't turn on the iMac and decided to send it to A.LAB to repair. When I am there, they use another power cord to boot up the unit and did a diagnostic. All passed except the FAN is faulty. Paid a $130 for further diagnostic and here are their reply.

2nd Reply from ALAB

I have asked why require to change the whole logic board where only the FAN is found fault. Here are their reply

Dear Customer,

Thank you for your reply.

The sensor on the Main Logic Board failed and the unit was not able to power on upon diagnostics at the Service Centre. I have tested with a good Logic Board with all diagnostics passed.

There is no issues with the Fan but the sensors on the Logic Board which caused the No Power and high Fan spin.

I couldnt power on my iMac 1 day before my 1 year warranty expiration date. I sent it for repair. 3 months later the same thing happened again. I was told they replaced the logic card in the initial warranty repair. So why and how did a new card fail just only after 3 months?

They quoted me 800 for the next repair.

Do You believe the next repair will make the iMac last longer than 3 months. I don't.
