iMessage crashes in iOS 8

If I tried to access photos or camera in iMessage it crashes - blank for a few seconds and return to home screen. Called apple tech support and they told me to restore to new phone which solved the issue. But if I were to restore from an earlier 5s backup the problem came back. Tech support suggested that I do a clean install and reinstall my apps and photos from iTunes. But wouldn't I lose my docs that way?

Suggestions?

Ps: iOS 8.02 didn't help

Restore back to that backup and try.

  • Settings > General
  • General > Reset
  • Reset > Reset All Settings (DO NOT HIT ERASE ALL CONTENTS AND SETTINGS)

Please don't say that.

It's the peak period and some of these geniuses are recruited without much training because Apple needs to cope with the surge in calls. Some of their answers might not help you but hey, at least they gave you a solution.

I'm glad my solution helped you :)
Cheers!
