In light of the coin mining craze. Reasonable?

Or progressive tax based on number of graphics cards a person/household owns. First one zero or low tax, buy second one higher tax, and so on.

This will kill gamers immediately.

Imagine now I own 2 gpus. Im already paying tax for the 2nd card, if I'm going for my next build in future or if I wanna upgrade, I pay tax again for my 3rd GPU?

The only thing that make sense is to tax those miners. Not on GPU, but their source of extra income. But that is if the govt of each country can or would tax them accordingly.

Apart from that, even if they tax miners on GPU based, they don't even care, cause to them if they are earning well, even if gpu were to be tax, they will still continue to buy.

It's just like our ERP gantry. They can charge us as high as $6, but if we got to use the road we got to use that road.

Don't think this is feasible. At the end of the day, all dealers want to make $$. Would you rather sell in bulk to miners or wait for gamers to stream in, bargain hard for that 1-2 piece of gpu?

Heard that GPUs in SLS are snapped up as soon as the distributors release to shops. If you want to get a GPU for gaming, most likely need to get a full system. #HardTruth

just impose mining fee + gst for each mined coin transaction
make mining capital gains which is taxable
only allowed registered miners who need to pay mining fee for license
declare mining as a terrorist funding or washing activity

Imports fees to manufacturers.
In order to have better quality control than quantity.
This is to prevent wastage.

And recyclable for environmental purpose.

Firstly, I am not sure who will impose this supposed COE. I am not expecting the government to intervene with this. Indirectly they have already imposed a tax on miners since electricity bills have gone up. They use more electricity, they pay more to the government.

Secondly, be careful what you wish for. Taxes have lasting effects even when mining craze is gone. I certainly am paying enough tax and with GST expected to increase this year to 9%, this is a poorly thought out proposition.
