I have a creative Atmos SB. I am curious why certain contents, the SB is able detect audio format and play it accordingly with display, ie Dolby surround, etc. but certain other contents with similar audio encoding, it cannot detect and display as PCM and it had zero audio output. Played the same zero audio content on PC, and the sound came out fine.

Thks. It's the creative sxfi carrier.

Connection as follow:
1) Media box htmi output to SB htmi input.
2) SB htmi output to tv ARC input

Setting set to passthrough. I hv contents with 5.1 or 7.1 audio. Some contents work fine, others just no sound and the SB also didn't indicate if it's Dolby format, just indicate as PCM. Usually once the SB indicate as PCM, I will not have any surround effects even with those content that works well with Dolby format. (Meaning I manually set those to pcm mode)

For those with zero sound content, I play it on my PC and the sound came out fine, although my PC speakers are basic.
