even indian FT's here have no way. your best bet is go back to india before dec 30 and stand in the line.

rupees are not supposed to be brought out of the country and now with 500 and 1000 notes declared not legal tender...many people holding these notes outside india are out of luck.

some enterprising people might offer to buy them at a discount.

going to india is not viable since the amount I'm holding is not even enough for airfare. then there's the daily limit of 4,500rs so I would have to stay for a while just to queue every morning. I think my accoms might breakeven or cost more.

didn't know that rupees are not supposed to be brought out of the country. interesting law they have there.

try ur luck at mustafa those money changers. i managed to changed back.

thank you so much! shall head over tmr.

the daily limit has been reduced to 2000.

there are notices posted at airport departure. india is another kiasee country like nepal and china.

better hurry to the money changers here while they still accept them.

Sharing is caring..

I just changed mine at arcade level 2, quite a few shops all offered to change old notes but at the heavily discounted rate below.. But beggars can't be chooser right?

I changed at the last shop, 1.25 for 100 rupee.
