U can't buy sgx listed stocks if u are local resident and there is a maintenance fee every quarter I heard , unless your portfolio is above 100k USD or u trade a minimum of some amount in a time period..I heard also because I also find it a steep learning curve so haven't used it:s22:

So all is I heard and I read 1 year ago...

I'm using scb btw just for local stocks and the beauty is the custodise shares can help u get priority status which will get u round the pesky 10 min comm which they just in mplemented

Pls elaborate further on how u get around the 10 min comm? I am buying IWDA via SC and my account is less than 200k which is the minimum for the priority status.

He just means shares in your scb account counts towards the 200k minimum for priority status. So if you have 200k AUM that includes your stocks holdings in scb, you will get the no min comms.

It depends on what you want to do. If it's just buy/sell shares and fx then it's not difficult.

The mobile TWS is quite easy to use.

If you use webtrade or quicktrade function from Interactive broker to buy and sell, it is very easy to use. However, they have limited options for advance trading compare to TWS.

Interactive Brokers also offers Demo modes for its trading applications. For example, click here to try their WebTrader demo. Nothing you do on their Demo site will impact your portfolio positions. You can also open a paper trading account for an even more realistic experience if you wish, using live market data rather than simulated market data.

IB has a lot of trading applications, by the way. You can use WebTrader (start with that, I'd say), TWS, iTWS (one version for iPhones/iPod touches, and another version for iPads), and aTWS (for Android devices). You can also use IB's API if you're a hardcore (or at least medium core) geek. At least one of these applications is likely to be a good fit for you, probably WebTrader, at least to start.

I'm noob in ib

Is there a button to sell cash secured put and sell covered call in ib?

Sell put, I just have to fund in the money amounting to the strike price x share amount and sell a put, right?

Sell call ,do I have to buy the equivalent underlying shares first, before selling a call ?

is there a drop down menu to choose sell covered call and sell cash secured put?

I'm using android only to hide from my spouse and boss

Load the stock (any stock) in your watch list.

Type in "AAPL" <ENTER>, it'll list a few things for you: Stock, Options, Bonds, Warrants. Click on Stock.

once it shows it on ur watchlist as "AAPL LAST PX % CHANGE", right click on the AAPL ticker, and click options trader and you can figure out from there how to sell
