interchange lens onto sony camera?

can nikon or canon dslr lens be used on sony nex camera? or it can only be used when a connector is purchased?

Of course you need to buy an adapter. You always do.

However, the good metabones adapters even have AF.

usually how much does an adapter cost? is the savings worthwhile to buy from a different brand?
