Hi,

I understand that you can invest your CPF, but I'm wondering when should you invest it?

Should it be before you get a house or after you get a house?

Also, what are the requirements in opening a CPFIS account other than the amount of money in your CPF? How do I buy shares? Via the bank I open my CPFIS?

TIA

When you get house (if it's hdb) all $$ in your OA will be depleted to pay for the house.

So depends on whether you want to do that or keep some money out from the house.

If it's a HDB loan, HDB will swallow all your CPF. This is to make sure the loan be as low as possible.

Open a CPF investment account with either DBS/OCBC/UOB.
Open a trading acct with any trading representative.
Update your CPF investment account with them.
You are ready to invest in stocks.

Hi, a few guidelines for you before you decide to invest. It is important to calculate what is the min. Amount that you need to set aside in CPF in order not to fork out additional cash every month to pay your loans. That applies to your partner as well.

And also, consideration have to be taken for your job security. Even if you lose your job, loans still have to be repaid. Having CPF set aside in investments can come into use at this point of time. This is the min due diligence that you can do.
