my spare iphone X also running on latest IOS 15, no issue so far. If you don't upgrade, technically you do not reap the benefit of the newer IOS, which i feel has very good security and anti-app tracking features. Your apps are also more likely to be obsolete as most apps are now customized to be IOS 15 complatible.

I upgrade iOS for all devices whenever it's available. X and older ones like iPhone 7 and 7 Plus no issue with the latest.

thanks guys, i had upgraded my iPhone X to iOS 15, so far so good, did not experience any slowness as compared to iOS 14.

the metadata function in the photos app is useful to check for file size.

i think old hardware will definately slow down a bit with the newer os
