Hi guys! Just wondering if anyone has any advice which one i should get for uni? I've narrowed down my choices but still need more info on the pros and cons and which one do people usually go for that is easier for students to use!

Thank you for any help! :)

Re

Just think of maintenance, upgradability and repair

For tablets you must make your decision carefully before buying for you cannot maintain, upgrade and repair the device yourself. For laptop you can open up easily for maintenance, upgrade and do simple repair.

I think my most efficient learning method is writing and copying. And i would be getting an apple pencil if i were to get an ipad pro. I will be taking engineering course, do you think an ipad pro would be suitable? Thank you! :)

Some people learn faster and better by copying, writing and scribbling a lot.

In that case a device with pen input might be useful.

If you don't subscribe to that technique, you can narrow down to a laptop only.

iPad Pro choice probably will have to depend on what course will you be taking.

i have an old asus laptop as well but it had some problems so i replaced the drive and now it's running on window 8 and it's slowing down but still usable so if i were to get an ipad pro i have a laptop too. But I was thinking if i should just get an ipad pro for easier note taking during lecture or get a better laptop entirely so i get faster and newer laptop.

ipad pro is not a direct replacement for your laptop.
