I guess, iphone 4 doesn't have any more warranty.

3 ways to go about it. Send for servicing at 3rd party which could cost you about $80++ to $100. Reason is the home button is integrated with the speaker, the mic, the charging port and also the antenna of the phone.

The other way is to go back to where you go back to service provider for an exchange. But however for an exchange it will cost you $350 - $400 as it is out of warranty.

Another way is to get the Apple care. Not sure whether this will work cause according to a friend of mine, he bought an apple care for his iphone 4. And went back to exchange. -----> check with your service provider for that phone if this option is still available.

odd.... i just changed my home button and i didn't see that it's anyway its directly connected to the speaker/mic/charging port/antenna...

my home button was a wear and tear problem, basically changed the mechanism only.... the person repaired right in front of me, so i saw everything from start to end.

You're correct.

The Home button is a little flex, connected to the dock. Don't have to change the whole dock, etc etc...
