Hi everyone, can anyone share hows your experience changing battery at QCD in terms of service? Can it be done on the day itself? Using back my two-year old 6 at the moment and the battery is behaving strangely even though the health is good.

You should be able to get it back on the day itself. Costs about $118 though.

I would suggest re-calibrating the battery once or twice to make sure that your battery is cranky before changing.

If you don't have a Mac to use CoconutBattery, use this app to check your battery health and remaining capacity:

Hi thanks for the reply. I used CoconutBattery and found my current max capacity is higher than the designed capacity. Also I experienced super long charging hours especially from 97 to 100 percent. It will take close to 2 hours. Anyway how to calibrate the battery? Run the battery to 0%?

It is quite impossible that a two year old battery will have max capacity exceeding designed capacity. Yea, run it down to shutdown and charge to max.

Yeah and the usage drain isn't consistent either. I'll try to run it down and charge a full cycle and see how. Thanks man.

a few symptoms to look out for when iPhone 6 battery is weak .

1) battery percentage skipping : usually below 50% , battery percentage will not be in decending order . 50% suddenly jump to 30% then shuts down .

2) battery percentage will jump from 1% to 15-20% the moment u plug in to charge

3) iPhone restarts itself randomly

4) to the left of the apple logo starts to get very hot upon charging or running apps with location service

if u have 2 out of 4 of such symptoms . its time to change your battery :)

Thanks.

What if the battery show 97% charging for some time while charging and jumps to 100% when I plugged out and in the charger? Possible battery issue?

Yeah true. Called the customer service person to do a diagnostic check. He said that battery passed their tests but cannot confirm the capacity in numbers and etc. I guess I'll be changing it anyway.
