iPhone died, Data in apps gone?

My iPhone 4S just died, attempts to hard reset etc all failed! (even change batt also cannot revive)

I last synced a month ago, my concern relates to data in apps like whatsapp (pics n messages), pics stored exclusively in certain apps etc. I think iTunes backup doesn't cover these...

Singtel technical centre and the repair shop at waterloo centre said that once phone dies like that all data gone and cannot retrieve.

I'm wondering if anyone knows if possible to somehow retrieve these data from my dead iPhone memory?

actually itunes backup do cover those items, but as you mentioned, it will be a month old.

Hmmm... Thought it won't cover all apps... I have some pics apps where plenty of pics are kept and they are not in the photos folder....

Ya lor... Actually already queued for new iPhone 5S ...but gold one out stock... Haha but phone decided to pass on before new phone arrived... So troublesome now... Regret regRet
