Iphone express replacement process

Hi so my replacement iphone is otw to me. Hope someone can share the process.

1)when the Dhl guy pass me the replacement , do I have to immediately past the courier back the old one ?

2)if they allow to give me some time to transfer data and arrange with courier for the pick up next day. Do I need to pay for additional shipping ?

2) If you have AppleCare+, you do not have to pay for shipping.

Normally I will transfer to the new phone before I even schedule a pick up of the old phone. This will allow me to ensure that my data is fully transferred and the new phone works first.

Just to share the experience.
Received the replacement phone on 5 nov. inside had return shipping labels and packaging material with instructions. The old phone had to reach Apple by 22 nov. so it’s a very reasonable time period.

Transfer over data to replacement iPhone via iTunes. Then I made sure all the apps in the replacement were running smooth for 2 days before I erased the old phone and called dhl to arrange a pick up
