Scenario: Buyer buys an iPhone from Seller that is still under warranty with a local telco. Seller was the line-subscriber with the telco. Seller gives Buyer the receipt. Can Buyer bring the iPhone to the telco to do 1-for-1 exchange even though Seller is not present to give his authorisation?

I emailed Singtel and the reply I got was that the buyer would have to bring the "original NRIC and the letter of authorisation of the registered customer" to the service centre to obtain a replacement set. As for M1, based on my experience they would require the line subscriber's IC to do the exchange.

What is your experience like? Is receipt sufficient to do the exchange? Your comments would be most helpful to all iPhone buyers.

Hmm strange, looks like the rules changed?
In the past NRIC was more than enough.

Got receipt, scan it.

Email to Apple, can receive case ID, then print email from Apple. Exchange approval direct from Apple.

If you email singtel, they of course going to put in the system that this iphone is not under ur IC and is bought because you provided them with your details(i presume?). if you didn't then lucky.

The thing is during verification at the information counter, they only check IMEI. You don't have to say anything.. you don't have to utter a single word.

I was at comcenter just now and had nv even need to show my IC. Accessories exchange.

For phone exchange previous no such issue.

If you afraid, like what darkblue said.

Call apple and get the case ID and print everything.
