Guys, anyone has experienced this?

I was using 5S 32GB, its remaining space was only 2GB. I backed it up, took my clean 6S 64gb, restored it using the back up. I notice that it only takes 17GB of total storage which may indicate that there were actually a lot of "hidden" space in my 5S?

I don't lose any app data, picture or videos by the way.

that is a huge difference.
yes some are hidden and temp files.

go to settings / cloud / storage
to see if everthing is being backed up.

go to settings / storage and icloud usage.
to see if the consumed MBs per app is same on restored phone.

go to settings / general / about: if count of apps, photos, video, music are same

also, if you are using multiple apple id, some apps or music will not restore if you skip the password during restore

I upgraded my ip6 from ios9 to ios10 and added about 4GB space.

I freed up 6-7GB by resetting the content ( basically cleared all the cache)
