IPhone tethering to iPad Help

Can anyone help me with this?

I tether my iPhone data to my iPad. But when I off my iPad screen (not shutdown) I have to go settings and reconnect my iPad to my iPhone. The tethering is discontinued.

I need to off and on my iPhone hot spot in order for my iPad to detect it again.

Any work around for the connection to be always on until I disconnect it myself?

Both my iPad and iPhone are jailbroken if that helps. Thanks guys

Try using Bluetooth pairing. I always tether through Bluetooth; one-time pairing and that's it, I don't see any form of disconnection whatsoever.

Not sure what you're doing exactly, but for me net surfing + games on iPad via Bluetooth I don't see any lag; maybe it'll be noticeable if you're streaming HD videos?
