Not much difference ba. Just that normal sim can remove and put in other phone. Esim doesn't work on older phone only nia. If your current phone spoil. You want use backup old phone, might have issues.

eSIM when travelling, even to jb can use apps like yoodo for monthly subscription e.g. 20gb 5G speed for 20rm, further countries typically get from Klook

physical sim still in phone to receive OTP confirmation for transactions

toggle eSIM for mobile data, rest physical sim

Depends on what kind of user you are.

Those who tend to change phone every now and then, eSIM not recommended.

Those who's multiple lines and tend to change network for travel or whatnot, eSIM will come in useful.

If your phone gets lost and the phone cannot be unlocked by thief ..he/she cannot physically remove and use ur sim card, can probably continue to track the phone down.

If your phone gets lost, u dun need to go down telco to reapply another physical sim card.

the reality now is most phones only support 1 physical sim and 1 esim.

thus to maximise the benefits of the above available options, it will be better to use the physical sim for the permanent line.

the esim provides a good option for travel purposes as they can be easily added or removed digitally from the phone.

esim can just buy travel sim online, and have data roaming the moment you land at the tarmac.

ok phone also able to store multiple sim profile.

but if you are the old school, and prefer to have a sim card, then can try esim card like 5ber. its a sim card, that is able to store multiple esim profiles.

Comparing eSIM to physical SIM in terms of usage is like comparing a physical banking token to an app-based token.

A physical SIM allows you to transfer between phones without issues, whereas eSIM depends on the telco. You may be subjected to a fee to reissue a new eSIM on your device.

For iPhone users, due to design and dual SIM requirements, they often have no choice but to opt for a second SIM card as an eSIM. So, if you're an iPhone user requiring dual lines, you may not have the choice to choose. (I'm aware that there are HK sets which accept dual physical SIM cards.)

Esim is good for travelling. You can buy it while you are overseas and just need to scan the QR code to activate it.
