4K resolution is 3840 x 2160.

You may wish to check if your Intel NUC i3 GPU that comes with it if it can output at that resolution. The Haswell generation GPU seems capable of it (source), but you better check to be sure.

Take note, just to share:

We had no problems connecting to a 3,840x2,160-pixel screen over both HDMI and DisplayPort, but found Windows was limited to a 30Hz refresh rate. On top of this, the Start screen animations were very slow, and even dragging around windows was jerky. It looks like integrated graphics, even the up-to-the-minute Intel HD graphics 5000 in the NUC's i5-4250U processor, can’t handle 4K resolutions on the desktop.

Even Haswell NUC may not perform well enough.

I wouldn't recommend NUC for 4k display. Furthermore 4k streaming is extremely CPU and GPU intensive...

Getting a proper rig is better.

One of the purpose of Intel NUC is for the 4K. It has 4K support and support 7.1 surround.

Hmm I see. Looks like NUC is more powerful than I thought. But I still think it is pushing a little. Better to have a bit of headroom for flawless performance. :)

Depends on Haswell or Skylake

Even if you buy a desktop it's the same issue

I have been a Broadwell i3 NUC user for awhile and I can gladly say that it serves it's purpose as a HTPC very well. Do note the i3 version don't come with HDMI 2.0. Therefore, the only way to watch 4K is via display port. Only the TOP end Skull Trail NUC comes with HDMI.

Skylake can, but has to resort to GPU acceleration

Just to clarify. All Intel nuc got no built in wireless adapter? Need to plug in a usb version?

Got include window 7 or 10?

Sent from LGE LG-D802 using GAGT

Wireless is part of the NUC, so no need to shell out extra for that.

However, OS is not included. So basically, you will need a hard drive, ram and OS for it to work. NUC is basically almost barebones.
