You're right..

Have to come down to the foot of the mountain before going over...A roughly 3hrs odd roadtrip.. :s22:

Duh. The road from alisan to sun moon lake was damaged by a typhoon in 2012. Repairs are underway. Unless you are willing to spend NT4000 for a taxi to squeeze thru the damaged road. Else have to head to taitung then to chiayi then to sun moon lake :s8:

I vaguely rem seeing the bus at the main recreation area on my recent trip..Tot u talking about a more direct route..

Seems to have resume late last year...

Bus service between Sun Moon Lake and Alishan provided by Yualin Bus Service Company has been resumed since Dec. 15th, 2012. There are 4 shifts for single way per day. More details can be found at 049-2770041, 049-8321141, or ????
