Agreed. Its not something spectacular as pap and lee kuan yew made it to be. Costs are low in building up infrastructure.

Furthermore most island ports like sg along major trade routes thrive economically

Build with what? We got nothing that we can dig in SG to sell in order to get money. And your so called most strategic location is subjective. U need a powerful salesman to sell this to attract money, u know that right?

Qatar
Monaco
Luxembourg
SG
Brunei

Being small is an advantage, not a disadvantage

That was not what I was taught in school.

I was taught that we are small and need to pay our rulers highest salaries in the world to prevent corruption.

I also learnt that we need 5 mayors to help the poor and pay them 660k each.

Can reduce the number of members

this is for sure. For decades they complained about productivity of Singaporeans but look how many ministers they need to get the job done. This is on top of a thick tier of highly paid AO civil servants.

its not that hard...just open your port can liao...and look at our neighbours...its really easy to build up a small country...same as it is relatively easier to build a small business

and dont underestimate our location...its the best it can be liao...when it comes to having a trading port

he had help back then, definitely not his efforts alone

Please lah.

Do you not remember the islandwide manhunt made during 2008? The PAP even mobilized SAF units to comb through from PIE to jungle inside.

My SAF unit was one of those mobilized to take over the search mission after initial 24 hours.

But the stupid SPF never even bother to check his relative house in Tampines where he was hiding!

Can you tell me how come the police chief did not step down or harakiri? Nobody held responsible or accountable?
