you do realize that itunes is native to osx right? Cant remember which version nor which year that it was finally made available for windows OS.

With that reason alone, its logical enough to understand that it should work relatively fast and seamless on OSX as compared to windows. With that being said, many moons have passed, many versions of itunes and windows OS have come and gone to which i think the windows version of itunes should have also matured but then again ive never had any experience with itunes on a windows machine before, so i dont know how fast/slow it is. I have no frame of reference.

And if your question is directed to get a more technical answer, well i guess we'd just have to wait till someone comes in and explains if the architecture is the same or not for both OSes

I came from Windows and just shifted my iTunes library from the old Windows laptop to my external harddisk library.

Then I hook up my iTunes on OSX to load the library on the external harddisk.

Afterwhich I sync new songs (~40 songs) and it took seconds to complete. On Windows, normally it takes 5-10 minutes to sync this amount of songs.

Cos Windows has so many security loopholes, it will make everything slow to make sure all these syncing are safe? :p
