I bought a rig a few months ago from the legendary fortran.
These are the specs:
i5 4570
Asrock B85M Pro4
8GB Kingston DDR3
Gigabyte GTX 770 2GB
FSP Raider 550W
Corsair 350D
However, I now need to move overseas, and i'm thinking that the 350D is a bit too big to transport. I will be studying in the UK and I need to make this rig a whole lot smaller.
I set out looking to replace my case and mobo. If the case is good, I wouldn't mind replacing the gpu with one that is shorter. Maybe I dont even have an option, dual slot itx cases are not aplenty right?
The mobo i've been looking at is the Gigabyte H87N-Wifi...not much choice in this regard.
The case? I've looked around - the Node 304 and the CM Elite 120/130 look pretty small and neat. The Hadron Air by EVGA also looks nice, but apparently not available here in Singapore. Would these work well in tandem with my current rig parts? I did ask Fortran for his opinion, and he said that I would need to get a lot more cooling for my system, and itx wouldn't accomplish this. Now i'm moving, I really need itx.
I'm asking for any recommendations/opinions/criticisms for my plan. Would it be better to just sell this, and get a rig in the UK? The warranty issue also worries me. Is it possible to send a part for repair overseas?
