I have many shirts in oxford cloth, here are the usual prices I have seen them at:

Oxford Shirts (by price)
Uniqlo: 34.90, offer at 19.90
Timberland: 60-70 on offer
Marks and Spencer: 69
Brooks Brothers: 90+
Polo Ralph Lauren: 120-160
J Press: 170 (pitiful discount sometimes)

Some other outlets like A&F, banana republic, departmental store brands but I think their cuts are too modern for my liking.


If you are looking at a formal shirt, Marks and Spencer produces the best quality at the lowest price. If you are looking for casual, Uniqlo has the cheapest shirt but the ironing is very difficult.

Gingham can be found at these brands or retailers too, but I don't keep note of the price

Too modern means too slim or too loose

Too modern means too slim or too loose

Too modern = too slim at the wrong areas (very high armholes) and non-classic design

A&F oxford has a curved collar and cusp-shaped yoke (a V on the back), making it a sad mix between a western shirt and regular button down oxford

How about long sleeved gingham or oxford shirts with correct cutting. Ie, not that long and not too baggy.
