Japan TaQBin question

Hi all

Intending to bring my parents (and in-laws) for Hanami 2018. Going Tokyo-Kyoto-Osaka-Tokyo. Taking Shinkansen between the cities (JR Pass) then a combination of train and taxis within the cities for the sale of the older folks.

Old people dunno how to pack light, was thinking of using the luggage delivery service to minimise hauling suitcases up and down trains. As we’re staying at AirBnB in Kyoto and Osaka, can I arrange for the service to pickup the bulky luggages from our hotel in Tokyo then deliver to the nearest convenience store at the destination city? Anyone tried before can share on the experience?

I've tried before and it's reliable from hotels to hotels. However, I am not sure about convenience stores as usually their store rooms are not that large. The bigger branches might accept it but quite often they could be located quite far from the city. Perhaps your Airbnb host could advice on this?

Thanks. I have contacted the hosts... one seems to know of a convenience store just downstairs that has it, while the other one ask me to go to the main Ta-Q-Bin counter which is like 20 mins away

Suppose other way is to see if they can do a delayed delivery, so can send straight to the AirBnB when we've checked in..

TaQ bin can be arranged to a specific date and time slots (they can keep the package up to 5 days). Fixed time slots are - before noon, 2-4, 4-6, 6-8 & 7-9. Usually I find that they will attempt to visit arrive at the beginning of the arranged time slot, so you should arrange a time slot that you can be sure you can be there right from the start.
